All notes off trough midi

Post by Cico »

Hi guys,

I recently bought a Fa-06 and I really love it!
I'm using the device in combination with an external arranger keyboard (through midi). I've found a lot of info in the topics in this forum, but i can't find nothing about 1 specific function what i think i need for me. "All Notes Off (Controller number 123)"

I'm using the pads to play for some extra sample loops over my arranger keyboard music which triggers the fa-06 notes over midi. Now i want to be able to stop the sounds comming from the fa-06 pads trough a midi command. In the midi implementation pdf i've found the command All Notes Off (Controller number 123), but i don't understand how i have to use it. I want to hit a 'note' on my external arranger so the fa-06 stop playing all pad sounds.

I think it's possible, but i couldn't set it up. Maybe you guys can help me with this.

Thanks for your time!

I believe MIDI-OX has some all-notes off functions, if you have a PC available to do this.

If your arranger keyboard is unable to send all notes off, then you can use the HOLD pad, by pressing it four times rapidly. All pads will stop playing samples (page 78 operating manual).l
Maybe this is a more comfortable solution (my boss always said: "RTFM"...).

From the manual. "If you experience stuck notes!
Press the [HOLD] button four times in rapid succession. This
stops all sounds that are being played by the pads."

Yess i've read that, but that isn't verry handy while playing live so that's why it has to be easy and quick. This button bashing isnt so..
So, i want to do this with 1 button on my arranger keyboard (tyros), or from within the running style as a "note" from the style..

Still looking for the sollution..

Hey, any luck trying to figure this one out? I've been searching the exact same thing for a while now. I'm a guitarist triggering samples through a Keith Mcmillen 12-step (great product that is!) but i need to set up one key to mute (or give a command to 'stop playing') every single sample playing. I don't use the pattern-mode, just single shot samples (which can last up to 2-3 minutes as song background noise/drone), so if i step on one of these by mistake, there's no way to stop it unless i take my hands of my guitar and press "[HOLD] button four times in rapid succession" which is no solution for me...
So if you have found an easier way, i'd be very grateful if you'd share it with me :)
Thankx!
Jay
