Assign transpose down to foot pedal control 1

Hi

I don't want to press the octave down button with my finger. Is is possible to assign this function to foot pedal 1 somehow (maybe by using the MFX 43 Pitch shifter). Didn't work.
Or do I understand the function of a Pitch shifter no correctly (I shifted 12 semitones down) 'cause English is not my mother tongue.
