Pads trigger Midi/Keybed?

I need official conformation in case I'm doing something wrong. Is there any way to trigger midi or tones (not sampled audio) with the FA0's pads? I know this was possible with the Fantom X. Has this changed??

No, I'm not trolling, I'm looking for a definite answer. I did not buy one, I spent the last few days at the music store trying to get it working myself....none of the store reps know how to use it. My studio engineer has been nagging me to buy it, and I was willing to compromise if I could figure out how to use the pads as described. I'd like a clear answer on this.

I recorded a few tones across 5 pads. I must have done something wrong cause cause it does not sound right. The pads are not touch sensitive. Trying to find a way to edit the sounds but I am not sure how to do that.

Hold Shift when your on the sampler bank screen.. then it should sohw sample edit .. or sample import (Rather than just sample the keyboard.)
The sampler wont change pitch on playback so it only sound differnet to the original if you apply TFX or MFX.
Im not sure if you can get the pads to trigger a midi note. Try see if you can reallocate the midi channel of a normal track to be the same as a pad sample track.

So I pulled trigger on the FA-06. I did notice that the first factory studio set allows pads 1-8 to send midi when they are green. I'm not sure how to make it work for all 16 pads, but I'm sure the functionality is possible, perhaps not implemented in a way we can edit.
So technically, Yes pads CAN trigger midi in the DAW. Unfortunately, those 8 pads were triggering one octave above where I need it. I look forward to updates on this.

The pads will trigger midi, even when you don't want them to. I have a patch set up where I play my Hammond from the FA08 keyboard, and when I press a sampler pad, it triggers a note on the Hammond. It's a huge issue for me and I'm not sure how I'll work around it.
There are a lot of these little quirks that I hope can be addressed with a future software update. Why you'd want the pads to trigger midi by default is beyond me.

I would like to use pads in DAW mode for FxPansion Geist, which is my 'software MPC'.

This feature is still lacking. At least, I wish the pad settings would be stored after shutdown. I liked using the part select mode. But midi implementation is....meh
