iPad lyrics config FA

Post by BenRoland »

I have been looking at lyrics on an iPad as a possible option... at the moment just printing them out!

A comment I noted in a previous thread was:
I use iPad with compannion apps like Bandhelper, OnSong, to organize repertoires and bands, configuring FA via MIDI automatically when a song is selected on iPad's screen for example.

Can anyone shed a little bit of light on how this is set up, especially the final part about the FA automatically configuring when a song is selected? Surely an iPad has no MIDI???

Yes, there are a number of apps such as Keystage or Onsong that will manage your charts and send midi commands when you open the song or select a particular part of the song. Of course you will need to get MIDI out from the iPad so you will need a camera connection kit. You then just connect a USB cable from your FA06 to your iPad though I think you need to set the driver in the FA06 to Generic as set out in the manual or here.
