- can read sysex files even if there are studio set parameters too before the SN-S parameters;
- can write out to sysex file the SN-S parameters;
These features mean that we can share complete studio sets, right?

No.
In first round it's will be a SN-S editor. You'll can save edited SN-S tone to a sysex file and you"ll can load SNS-S tone(s) from sysex file. Here is the point when I have to got to resolve that situation:
- when you got a sysex file which is contains more then one SN-S tone (for example it's a studio set's sysex file) my program will load the all SNS-S tone into the PC "temporary" memory, then you can select one from these (into the selected part) for editing. But, you can save only one, the actually edited SN-S tone at once to sysex file...
As you will seen soon (as "officially" Linux tester :-) )

In the future my program probably will be have got the studio set saving feature... It would be logically... but it's need more programming capacity/time from me - what I actually don't have...

Hi there!

You can download the public beta test version of my SN-S editor from my website: http://lipi.atw.hu

Known issues/ToDo list:
- although you change MFX type, the MFX parameters are zeroes in the FA and in the saved sysex file except the MFX type, Chorus and Reverb send parameters;
- when you load a preset tone from list, the editor’s parameters are not refreshing;

Please read the manual!

Please if you have any question, opinion react here (int that forum)!

Thanks!
Have a nice weekend!

Yes. I have both synths and from what I understand they are using the same SN-S engine. A big difference with the Xi of course is that it has an analog part too (with simpler/fewer parameters than each of the digital parts).

Sorry, was too quick there. I was thinking you asked about partials, and yes it has that, for the two digital *parts*. So I guess it has both :)

Hi,

just a short notice: a start script for Windows and Linux would make it easier for users:

Linux

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
java -jar ROLAND_FA.jar
Win

Code: Select all

java -jar ROLAND_FA.jar
The "Studio Init" button works now perfectly :)

Thanks

Very good work man! Thanks so much!
I like the "Random" buttom, very atmospherique and crazy tones!

Is it possible to resize the editor window/panel?

Hi there!

I have to inform you the developing of my editor get slowed, because there are no enough information about the MFX parameters. I have to start reverse engineering from sysex - it's mean I can develop next to my FA. These times are so few...

So please be patient.

Thank you!

Hi there!

The updated v0.9c version is available for download on my website!
http://users.atw.hu/lipi/

What's new?
- fully communication FA<->editor;
- MFX Control Edit;
- MFX Param edit (yet now 2-3 type, I'm working on the all types)
- Program change and using as a scatch from Preset/User banks
- Getting current temporary memory from FA
- Can use any of the 16 parts in a studio set
- select any of the SN-S tones from an opened studio set sysex file (in the zip the LiPI.syx to test);
- a lot of minor bug fixes

Please delete the previous version from your computer and set up the new.

Thanks!

Cheers!

LiPI

ps.: I just get the informationfrom from Skijumptoes: my editor is work on Mac OS 10.12 (Sierra) and 10.13 (High Sierra) too! :D

Hello LiPI... thank you for your fantastic work!!!

Just noticed one thing:
On the tabs "LFO" and "Modulation LFO" you have the three partials as "Partial 1".

Keep up the good work.
