Hi guys,
I'm a long time lurker on these forums, but with little activity, as usually most of my questions would be answered by using the search function :). However, this time i am confronting a "situation" where i don't even know what to search for :).
Here's the run down : i am an avid user of Roland products and have owned a D50, JV series, XP series, and all incarnations of the Fantom. Now i'm adding an FA-08 to my arsenal, to use with my cover band. There are a lot of complex presets that i use, which involve clever splitting and layering and for the most part the FA does it's job brilliantly.
However there is this little thing i can't get my head around, which on the Fantom Keyboards used to be very easy to do: quickly set the key ranges for diferent parts in the studio set. On the Fantoms it was as easy as pressing [shift] and then the key to be defined as the boundary. On the FA the only way is to tediously ride that jog wheel, or at least that's the only way i've found.
Is there another (easier) way to do this (as i'm currently doing about 80 custom studio sets and all need this kind of tinkering...) ? Thanks!
Studio Set Question
Re: Studio Set Question
Hi Defector,
I think the quickest way to do this is to highlight the key range with the cursor in the studio set screen and press shift and then the keyboard key. The key range is not apparent, for each part it is toward the right of the keyboard icon. When the key highlights in light blue, it is active, the other key is red on black.
They disappear when the cursor moves off them. Check item 6 on page 26 of the manual, it is toward the right of that oval - invisible of course!
Good luck!
Regards,
Joe

Re: Studio Set Question
wow, they've hidden it well :). I would not have moved the cursor to that area if my life depended on it.
Thanks a lot for the tip!
