Hello all -
Most of my background is on acoustic piano. All the electronic side is still new for me so I appreciate you bearing with my questions. I just picked up a used FA-08 and discovered that my M-Audio SP-2 pedal doesn't work properly with the piano settings. Actually what happens when I plug it into the "hold" jack is that it leaves the damper open and I can't kill the sustain (as if I was holding the pedal down). I tried changing the polarity switch but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem with the SP2 on this keyboard ? Maybe its not compatible with the FA-08. If so can you recommend a different damper that will definitely work with this keyboard ? Thanks !
Damper pedal question from a newbie
Re: Damper pedal question from a newbie
This a on/off pedal, so you don't have half damping which is cool for piano playing, you ought to buy a Roland Dp10 (I have one, it's cool)
For your problem, even the pôlarity switch does not work, you can de-solder the wires in the pedal and swap them.

Turns out the pedal itself was bad. Picked up a new one. All good now. Thanks !
