Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
512 studio sets is enough but the point is what is saved when you do "studio set save" oparation ?

Ok. So studio sets have to be saved for each song. Think I can deal with that.
Another question. Can the same preset tones (not user banks) be used in two different songs but with different parameters such as volumes, pans, offsets, etc
Thanks

Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
I'm sorry if already answered: if I save a studio set, do changes to the tones in the set get saved inside the studio set or do those changes get saved in the original tones or no tone changes saved at all and have to be saved individually tone by tone?
Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
studio sets only store reference to tone selections not their edits
so you still need to save each edited patch/tone to a new location before saving a studio set.

Thanks Quinnx.
Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
Each demo song uses SysExc message so it seems that BulkDump is the most reasonable solution.
Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
would be IF...
You could bulk dump into the current song before Song Save
However..
Something may have been over looked
(If some of you lucky FA owner can try this)
In midi settings
make sure the following are enabled
Transmit/Receive program change, edit data, bank select, exclusive
Once these have all been enabled.. make these setting permanent with write system settings.
Choose a new studio set
make edits to 1 or more channels/tracks
choose SAVE SONG power off/On then load song
The G relied heavly on sysex and if these setting where not enabled no changes would appear
so the same would be true with the FA.
Let me know if it had any effect on this.

Please, ask them about PC editor.
Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
I truly hope this gets fixed. I noticed the same problem when I bought my FA on Friday. Saving twice is a bummer. Saving a song should also save the studio set. I'd be happy if even the first studio set is designated to be overwritten by the set that was saved with loaded song. Currently its just a pain to manager internal songs.
For now I use Studio Sets with my DAW and avoid song mode unless I really NEED to make a song internally.

Hi everyone! no more news on this issue? My old Juno G save the performance data (studio set now) on each song without problem or "doubble saving thing". I think Roland can fix it if he wants.

Re: Save Song (Caution)? Verified!! <--
There is no bug, so there will be no fix available.
Roland changed the behaviour of SONG save from the Fantoms (where Tone edits are saved within the song data).
FA works as designed, even if some of us don't share this solution. Since this was never a big issue in this forum, it is ok for most of the user.

Hi, and thank you for your answer, but let me think different. Is a waste of time and memory locations.
Maybe if we could have the option to bulk dump the initial sound data into the first measure of the song, inside the FA without other equipment as Sysex...but we can't too.
I love Roland and the FA (and I have a Juno-G!!), but this is a step down to me ( to me! )
