FA v Integra (which one is best?)
FA v Integra (which one is best?)
So what makes the FA favored over the Integra or
why would you choose the integra over the FA
They seem pretty much as capable as each other when it comes to sound
with the FA having sample pads which the Integra dont have
which do you favor or would you use both?

On what sound is concerned they could be considered similar, but for performance, the FA is the oneQuinnx. wrote:So what makes the FA favored over the Integra or

IMO...
In favor of the FA:
- Sampler
- Sequencer
- Drum Patterns (w/ 6xVariations)
- ARP
- SUB OUT
- Easier to tweak sounds (Buttons/Knobs), although we can do the same with the Integra+ a Capable MIDI Kbd Controller
- BIG Display
- DAW Control
- Accepts all SN-S sounds from the INTEGRA
In favor of the INTEGRA:
- (much) more sounds
- ALL 12x SRX expansion + 6 ExpSN cards (up to 4 slots)
- Full assignable 8xMONO or 4xSTEREO OUTs
I have the INTEGRA and most probably will buy the FA as soon as I fully decide which one will be my next synth...
P.S: Still hesitating between an FA-06, a 2nd hand Fantom G6, a Kurz PC3 K6 (or LE6), a Kross 61 or a MOXF6... in (actual) order of preference

Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
Anyone know how much user space there is for tones, I know it can take 2 srx expansions but how many slots for user sounds eg the Axial Site Integra Jupiter 8 sounds etc.

On the FA there are:theshinenz wrote:Anyone know how much user space there is for tones, I know it can take 2 srx expansions but how many slots for user sounds eg the Axial Site Integra Jupiter 8 sounds etc.
SN-S= 512 USER locations
SN-D= 64 USER locations
(Information taken from the Manuals)
Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
If FA has an option to import all patches from I7, I will sell my integra
I7 is nice but Roland has not done what they promised like Mac editor.
Some are saying it is dead.

Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
They are pretty different. If you perform heavily and use lots of samples and loops I can't see why you wouldn't want a FA. They look great for that! Light weight and fashionable, and those supernatural tones yeah!
But if you work in the studio a ton and need quick access to a huge library of Roland sounds the Integra makes more sense.
My setup for a while now has been Integra 7 controlled by a Fantom G8. Just this month I made the decision to sell the G8. I was actually looking to trade for a G7 because with a hand injury I find accuracy on piano weighted keys difficult, but on synth action and semi-weighted I have very few problems. Someone who saw my ad contacted me and asked to buy it, so I figure why not. I have the V-Studio 700 which has most of a Fantom G inside of it as a hardware plugin.
Then I had to replace the Fantom because I have no large keyboard to control everything. For a while I was wanting to get a G7, but I ended up feeling that it's more than I need considering how much I use my DAW for recording. The final decision was between a FA 06 or Jupiter 50. A used Jupiter 50 and new FA 06 are about the same price, so it was a very difficult decision. I decided on the Jupiter because I like the extra range 76 keys gives me. If Roland was making a FA 07 as well that had 76 keys I would have been all over that. But I'm happy because all I really need is a good keyboard that can plug into my computer via usb to map and control to my Integra, Fantom VS, and soft synths.
A FA would be so much fun to have! All of you who buy one make sure you tell us all about it on these forums as soon as you get to play it :)

Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
If the lack of a MAC editor is what makes you sell the Integra, you should look better, as there is a MAC Editor yes!unixmill wrote:If FA has an option to import all patches from I7, I will sell my integra

Mac editor does not work. Useless
Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
I agree that it is a limited VST function editor yes, but but for what it does, it does work (not DOES BEERS ;-))unixmill wrote:Mac editor does not work. Useless
but but of course all depends on what YOU consider what works for you...

Hi, I don't frequent the forums much, so just wondering what "Does Bears" means--I've seen it a few times since coming back to check out the discussions of the new FA series. Just curious, thanks!

Well... Does Beers is an old and long story but our friends Grammar and sRa jumped and already answered your question. The Un-dr. wrote:Hi, I don't frequent the forums much, so just wondering what "Does Bears" means--I've seen it a few times since coming back to check out the discussions of the new FA series. Re: FA v Integra (which one is best?)
Ummmm....I think I'm sorry I asked ;-) , but I did just have two bottles of Shell's Dark (150 year old brewery here in Minnesota) while watching the Cuba episode of "No Reservations." Sure wish I could leave Minnesota right now and head to Havana!
Consider me in the club "DOES BEERS" (unless there's more to the initiation)!!
