Be interesting to see how they will be accessed..
I mean if its SD or USB and if you have all 12 in the one place will you be able to swap them out between the 2 virtual slots as you do on the integra or will it be a more laborious process.

How about making them available to Fantom X Compact Flash card too? :D I've already got Session (3) but the other 3 slots are still empty. Maybe we can get a middle ground arrangement. ( = probably not for free but still available)

I just wish Roland would let you load sound by sound in each bank so you can take stuff you liked off each SRX and load favourites without taking up a whole slot with an SRX where you might only need a dozen of the sounds

That's what I have wished since I had the first hardware SRX boards and instruments with only 2 slots (Juno Stage, Sonic Cell). In Germany there was somebody who was said to offer custom-made SRX boards consisting of the waveforms and sounds you preferred individually. I doubt it ever worked. I fear Roland has never been flexible in this respect, and the data structure won't allow it. The MoXF with its flash board is great in this respect, but still this doesn't mean one finds the vast versatility of the thousands of waveforms of the SRX library. (Besides the fact that you can only STORE a maximum of 384 additional voices in a MoXF simultaneously).

It be difficult to do
since you have to deal with not only the wave slot # for one patch
but if another patch from another card used the same wave slot# there would be a conflict.
Its not beyond possibility but it dont make it easy.
Now i assume the srx expansions will be the integra format based an not the original format.
the only way to do what your suggesting is to have virtual empty SRX board where you could write the data to as a patch but then the question arises how do you back up this virtual user card?
Thats a complete rewrite of firmware to add that functionality unless a complete system dump is possible to resolve.

As I've mentioned in other posts, if someone figures out the format of these virtual SRX card files, then there will be way more possibilities - a PC SRX file editor could allow mixing and matching patches and figuring out what waveforms are required to make it work, and then allowing the user to "build" the SRX file. Could also allow custom waves/instruments created by users.

That being said, Roland are likely to really want to protect their SRX library so the files are probably encrypted, so decrypting them may be a real challenge, especially if there's a private decryption key stored in the FA hardware.
