Is it possible to use the Integra as midi merger using the USB midi in port and the traditional 5pin midi in and sending the data with the midi thru to the destination?
I want to plug 2 midi devices on the Integra, both using the same channel, and send the information to Logic using the midi thru port....is it possible?
Integra as midi merger
Re: Integra as midi merger
You can't MERGE MIDI traffic from two sources without a MIDI Merger devicemetallo wrote:Is it possible to use the Integra as midi merger using the USB midi in port and the traditional 5pin midi in and sending the data with the midi thru to the destination?

Can you explain a little more clearly what you are trying to do?
Do you want to Drive the Integra from a MIDI Device and a MIDI Keyboard and at the same time that all devices are recognized by Logic?
Logic can do that for you, provided you are able to connect all your devices too the computer via USB, or to a MIDI/USB interface
Example:
MIDI Device -----------> MIDI/USB __________________ COMPUTER/LOGIC
MIDI Keyboard---------> MIDI IN - INTEGRA/USB_______COMPUTER/LOGIC
Please clarify what are you looking after...

Thanks for the answer.
No, I wanted to use the integra as a mere midi merger.
I have 2 e-drums brains (one with just a 5-pin midi output and one with the usb-midi) and I need to connect both contemporary to Logic using Addictive Drums.
I was thinking to plug the brains to the integra and use it as a midi merger to route the midi signal on a single channel to the daw.
BTW I was able to manage it bypassing the integra and using a m-audio midi interface for the old brain and plugging the newer brain directly into the iMac :)

Re: Integra as midi merger
As long as your 'puter sees one of the ports as a MIDI din plug input, and the other as a USB one, I don't see why it wouldn't see 'em as separate and treat them accordingly. That is to say that they're different ports and should theoretically be viewed as such by your computer.
Just thinking out 'loud.

I'm sorry but the integra is not a MIDI Merger devicemetallo wrote:Thanks for the answer.

You should to that using a dedicated MIDI Merger device or to use the computer/ software for that
