Behringer mixers.......

Post by Squints2See »

Does anyone have an opinion on their mixers. Im looking at one of their 12 channel boards with effects for use with my X8. Is Behringer any good?

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd.

I've had one of their 10 channel analog mixers. It was decent with acceptable signal to noise ratio. The mic pre-amps were less than impressive, but I used it mostly for line mixing anyway. Overall it was worth the relatively low price (around $80 US I think) that I paid for it at the time. I currently have a pair of their powered studio monitors. They are very good (especially for the $380 US price for the pair). Behringer seems to make decent gear at a good price, but don't expect to find top-of-the-line products from them.

I am onto my second Behringer mixer. Had a 16 and a while back upgraded it and have been been very happy. I have used it live a but mostly in a home studio situ. I also use a portable 2 mic B unit as well.
Sure it is not top of the line but for the money has been great. I rarely use the internal effects but it is good to have an on board reverb if you need it.

I use a small UB802 and have not found any problems, two of the lines are L,R two are mic with both XLR and Jack inputs.

No problems, it has phantom power which comes in handy for a condenser I use for recording.

Good Luck

I've been using a Behringer SL3242FX-PRO for about a year now, with no problems at all. It's a great live desk. The built-in effects seem good too, although I only use a bit of reverb for the vocals, so haven't really needed the others... I haven't had a problem with noise or anything... My Fantom goes in, and comes out the other end sounding sweet, so that's good enough for me :-) I wouldn't hesitate buying another one...

Thread moved to 'non-Roland gear'

I have a Behringer UB2222FX-Pro that I use in my home studio rig. It was formerly used for gigs, thus the overkill in the number of channels. It has functioned with no problems and the sound quality has been quite good. I feed from the Behringer to a Tascam 2488 recorder and get very decent reproduction.

For the value, it's a great deal.

I have a couple of little behringer mixers... I haven't had much experience with any other mixers, but I've never had a problem with mine. Definately good 'bang for your buck' I reccomend them.

According to my previous experience with Behringer equipment they produce some very decent gear at low prices, but the problem seems to be with quality control: the quality of some of their products seem to vary quite a bit from good to unacceptable.

And having said that, I still use Behringer gear :) , the ada8000 and the ha4600 and have had no complaints about those products yet. There is no other manufacturer who can match Behringer's bang for bucks in my humble opinion, as long as you don't have the bad luck of getting the "monday version".
