I have tried many times, and always failed. I have two problems, which both seem to rear their heads at random...

One problem is that there's always a delay, so even at best, I cannot mix FL sounds & Fantom sounds. At first I thought this would be a nice quick & easy way to record patterns into the fantom sequencer... however, the FX sequencer never records the first note, even when it's set to 'start recording on input' or any other seting for that matter.

The Second problem, is that occasionally (seemingly randomly) the beat is not in synch with itself. A 4/4 beat for example, would come out as BOOM...BOOM..BOOM......BOOM (the periods represending the delay between beats.)

Basically, I view it as a total lost cause. I've never heard of anyone on this forum being able to successfully use these two together without having to make serious comprimises.

I do use my fantom with FL quite a bit, but I do it by exporting loops from the fantom as into FL as wav's & then sequencing them that way.

Sonar works MUCH better, but it's giving me headaches too (although I supsect this is due to my own lack of knowledge rather than the gear/software relationship)

Pearls of wisdom, no mistake, but I bought a Fantom-Xa anyways ;)
