I still think this one is a fake. Come on! The cheap plastic USB key cover? That's not how a 3,5 grand synth looks like! And what's about those Atelier-like buttons on the player's side? I know this is supposed to have "supernatural organs" but hey, hasn't Roland delivered a VR-combo AND an Atelier AT portable already? Are they on a "let's bring everyone and his/her momma's an organ" rampage???
How about another hint? They should have hired a retarded designer to bring up with a whole "section" labeled "REVERB" and one single button underneath. No matter how closely would they have wanted to ressemble with the original design, this is totally and utterly retarded. No way, this is not the real deal.

I hope Roland gave some life to the V-Synth concept again here... :-)

Thank you for this post. It still might be a joke.
Although be carefull, you might get accused for trolling.
"PauloF wrote..."No, if you were asking the question because of curiosity.
I asked this out of curiosity... some persons were suprised by the D50 for the last time, for me I was supprised by the FantomG.

sRa ? where are you ? we need you here!
Leave Berenice alone for a moment and come here and tell us all about those shelves!!!
Actually PauloF, I do know something about what was proposed by Roland US this last year! To follow in piaknowguy's footsteps, here is a clue!

@&^%$#!*( (^#^%@^!&

BTW Bernice says 'Hi'. You're right! She is a hard one to leave alone, although I did make the mistake the other day while out on a drive of mentioning that her toe-nail polish was wearing off! I actually meant on my toes!. . . Women!

You mean for sure you ARE interested, or for sure you are NOT interested?

BTW I don't mean to be your Censor Sheep... but I just think you should't post for the sake of posting.

I guest the huge empty area on the right is for that XR thing they mentioned. hopefully comes with Velcro straps and coffee mug holder too while we do our silly study on how to turn internal knobs with a mouse on the fly..mmmm this is serious stuff. maybe this XR thing is actually bunch of knobs.

I've got to admit, I'm siding with this - for such a premium product, it looks well, umm, cheap. The "Reverb" button rings alarms with me . "Effects" would have taken me off the scent, but now I'm not sure....

And I really don't like the "registration" buttons under the keybed.

That said, it could sound fantastic..... we'll see soon eh?

So, you're more interested how 3.5 grand synth looks like than how it sounds? Anyway so what if that lid is plastic if the rest of a synth is metal?

It did. But it was only organ that was supernatural. As well as V-Piano only had piano sounds supernatural. Every sound on Jupiter-80 is supposed to be supernatural and that's the catch.
How about another hint? They should have hired a retarded designer to bring up with a whole "section" labeled "REVERB" and one single button underneath. As it's meant for live performers, I don't think it's wrong at all. Especially because you could probably enter effect selection with SHIFT+ON/OFF shortcut and assign, lets say, distortion or delay instead of effect. Afterall, Juno-Stage had such knob next to high/low EQ.

Face it, Jupiter-80 is not gonna be next Fantom. Consider it more as a advanced stage piano. In other words, as a Nord Stage. I saw on one website that Nord Stage 73 costs $3.299,00 - you tell me - why Jupiter-80 can't cost the same if it's not workstation?

And here's my overview of front panel buttons:

USB MEMORY SONG PLAYER/RECORDER - guess we can record directly on USB thumb drive?
D-BEAM section with typical assign: PITCH, VOLUME and ASSIGNABLE
CONTROL section with:
Arpeggio: HOLD, ON/OFF for LOWER and UPPER and TEMPO (probably tap tempo)
bellow something that's called either VISUAL CONTROL or V-LINK CONTROL and HARMONY INTELIGENCE
and last is typical Roland TRANSPOSE, OCTAVE DOWN and UP
PART BALANCE section:
LOWER, UPPER, SOLO faders with ON/OFF buttons
I can't read what's on that white fader, but my guess is just for piano sounds. You can see there are 3 "gray" buttons saying piano, e. piano and clav so my guess that fader is just for that type of sounds.
• Then we have some MENU and SHIFT buttons below display and 4 encoders in between with display showing what they're controlling, typical DEC/INC, wheel, EXIT and WRITE on the right...
REVERB section with ON/OFF button
SONG PLAYER/RECORDER with usual controls (so I guess, phrase recording will be possible)

And last row seems to have next (my best guess with (?) where I'm not sure):

ROTARY SOUND section ON/OFF and SLOW/FAST buttons

LOWER section:
- SPLIT
- BASS
- PAD
- CHOIR
- STRINGS
- SYNTH STRINGS (?)
- BRASS / SAX
- SYNTH BRASS (?)
- WOOD WINDS (?)
- Something white labeled
- ALTERNATE ON/OFF (guess every button has two alternates?)

UPPER section:
- PIANO
- E. PIANO
- CLAV
- CHURCH BELLS (?)
- ??? BELLS (?)
- THEATER ORGAN (?)
- GUITAR
- SYNTH LEAD
- VIBES/MARIMBA
- ACCORDION/HARMONICA
- Something white labeled
- ALTERNATE ON/OFF

SOLO section:
- VIOLIN
- TRUMPET
- SAX
- FLUTE
- OBOE (?)
- BELL
- Something white labeled
- ALTERNATE ON/OFF
- SOLO SPLIT

Beneath keybed, there is WRITE (or maybe REC?), PREV and NEXT buttons on the ends and in between it seems that it will have SH-201 system with 4 banks up with 8 patches per bank. Hope it's just USER bank but then again... come on... it's 2011 we're talking about! What's wrong with 1000 user slots idea?

This is the advertising on Keyboard Magazine - May 2011
I've managed to get a copy of the entire magazine (I know this is wrong!) from another forum, and this ad is at the beggining of the magazine.

I beleave he got it in this leaked version of the magazine.

It's hard to tell anything serious about the Jupiter unless we know the exact specifications and see the manual for some details.
What I have seen so far tells me that it's about time to start praising the Fantom G.

Lets see now...

Its going to have 4 part layering

supernatural modeling thing

no sampling so its not going to be a v synth in any sense of the word

so it appears its another cut down version of the fantom with the supernatural thing stuck on and maybe some analogue modeling to boot.
Oh yeah forgot..
it will have a player to play wavs mp3 and midi files

maybe the analogue attributes will do something for it who knows..
but so far its about $1500 above reasonable..
maybe wait for ebay to catch up.. :)
