Do you usually play standing up or sitting down?

Sitting on my combination water-closet and fridge...

Post by SammyJames »

...only kidding, of course. Sorry for ripping off Artemio, but I've been laughing about that all day long...

And seriously -- I really do sit down to play. I USED to stand all the time, when I was in my teens and twenties, until my back said "STOP IT!!! NOW!!!" In fact, for a while, I had a setup in which I would sit part of the time and stand part of the time. I hate to say this, but in some respects, this was a good way to be. It gave my bones the chance to unfold themselves, and when I got tired of standing, I could just sit. However, the problem was that I needed two keyboards to pull that off. Maybe in the future I will consider doing that again. On the other hand, I also never used to have a computer monitor in front of me while I played, so I guess that I would have to have two of THOSE now if I wanted to do the same thing...

Did I answer your question properly? Or did I just derail the entire conversation and plunge head-long into bizarre weirdness?

Good night, and good luck.

Both, but not at the same time. I have a stand capable of holding 3 keyboards. I have 2 keyboards and use the bottom two holders. Sometimes I stand to play; sometimes I sit using a type of bar stool - depends on my mood. I built a little box stand to put the foot controls on. And no, I do not drink while at the keyboards. One sloppy spill and I would probably regret the almost guaranteed damage.

Yep! Sadly on rare occasions I can be pretty pissed behind the ivories. On my birthday my bar manager aggressively fed me with Sambuca but to my everlasting credit I finished the bloody night. Then I passed out (in private) and woke up with lacerations on my head!

Thank heavens it's only once a year! LOL

Regards,

DOES SAMBUCA.
