I'm an hour and a half south west of Toronto, Canada on the shores of Lake Erie. Put perch on your fork, eh.

Re: Where Are You From?
Hey EJ2.
I'm from Goderich on Lake Huron (about 3 hours due west of Toronto).
Which port/town are you from? Port (Friday the 13th) Dover?
Our perch are way down in numbers this year unless you have a boat that goes several miles out - safely, that is. My 16' aluminum doesn't go far out on our lake. It gets too dangerous when storms suddenly move in. For others' information, Lake Huron was mistaken as a sea by one of our earliest explorers, Samuel de Champlain. It's about 35 miles west across to the USA. I'm guessing about 100-150 miles north to south. The National Geographic once wrote that the most beautiful sunsets in the world are found here and some place on the west coast of India. Once you see one here, you would understand and believe!
Because of the large expanse of water and the westerly predominant winds, our area is also one of two major snowbelt areas in our province, Ontario. Now, that's when we really get isolated! But only in the winter (LOL). We do have gorgeous summers!

Re: Where Are You From?
Hi Dale,
Yep, Port Dover.... Next Friday the 13th is the second week in October and that's it for this year. The weather should be still decent, so the town will be a zoo again. That's OK. Most bikers showing up or off usually keep themselves in line. It's our biggest festival bringing in tons of dough.
Lake Huron and Georgian Bay have some of my favorite destinations. Just the same, I love Port Dover in the summer and fall. By mid November, I'll getting ready for the Snow Bird migration to sunny St. Petersburg, Florida if I haven't left by then. We usually return in May. I've got the best of both worlds.
Cheers,
Eric

Originally from North Bend, Oregon. After traveling around the world, and then settling in CA as a teen, due to an Air Force parent, spent the next 29 years in CA before coming to my senses and moving to Vancouver, WA last summer.
