I think it's quite expensive for this one.
Well, I don't see how you can EQ your own voice either ?
Maybe it's to early and should wait when the manuals are online.

Jabberwocky, this one ships with a microphone and I think it is tuned for best quality with this VP-7 and you should not need any EQ. Also, if you plug the output of this thing into your X or G, you have an EQ on the input.

BTW, $600 is a bit expensive for this thing, but we gotta get more demos of it, and in any case it's 1/3 price of the VP-770. ARX boards are not that much cheaper, after all.

Personally I would EQ before adding ambient things. Anyhow, it makes me wonder. The current ARX have their own effect processors (MFX, Chorus, Reverb) . I'll wait in 2010-2011 to see if Roland put's this technology also in Fantom G ARX's (so I don't have to relay on internal FG effect processors).
Or an OS update could increase FG's processors capacity / flexibility. Oh what an interesting year to wait and see (trust is lost)

Jabberwocky, the VP-7 is not a standalone unit in the sense that it will be used with a workstation or at least plugged into a mixer, so you have EQ there. I kind of like it's simplicity anyway.

I have see the VP-7 in the internet for EUR 470 - 500.-
Expensive IMO for such a little thing! Maybe better to get a JUNO Di (incl. Voccoder) in this pricerange.

well it seems that VP-7 is derived from VP-770, without the keyboard and the extra stuff. I have briefly owned VP-770 and I like the vocoder, but it is pretty expensive at $2000 USD. But at the same time, I am not sure if any other products in the market can do the same choral vocoding.

Considering the music stores in Australia are asking AU$1099 for the VP-7
may as well save for VP-770
What a ripoff !

Picked up a factory sealed VP7 for $450 US. Arrives in two days...
Curious if anyone out there owns one and has any feedback on the unit.

Do you have the possibility to make some Demo-Videos on Youtube?
or some Soundfiles...
It seems like nobody bought the VP-7...
Please tell us your Opinion.
Would be very nice!
