LIBRARIAN error
Keeps telling that it cannot seem to connect to the fantom...
i go into librarian mode, then open up the .fxl file i want...
but when i try to fix the midi setup (input-output) the fantom doesn't show.
hence when trying to preview the patches it says it's not connect...
anybody?

Re: LIBRARIAN error
Two things to check right off:
Are you in MIDI mode and not Storage mode?
What version Editor/Librarian are you using? Make sure that the version mathces your OS version.
ie: Ver 2.x to Ver2.x Ver 1.x to Ver 1.x

Re: LIBRARIAN error
double check connections
make sure Roland driver is installed on computer
Double check you've downloaded Librarian 2.0 software cause this was my problem that took 3 days to get right
last resort make sure fantom is on and then turn computer on and then plug the cable into the computer.
let us know how you go

Re: LIBRARIAN error
Just did what you said.. no difference
all the versions are 2.0
the fantom just doesn't show up in the input/output fields...
getting worried... hopefully it's resolvable.

Re: LIBRARIAN error
Search the forum. Someone had similar problem and is resolved.
There are two areas you need to turn on in order to have USB Midi mode active.
You just got one area.
Refer to the manual too.

Re: LIBRARIAN error
I did think of this since I work with computers all day long and battle problems every day.
can you try it with another computer or laptop? (borrow somebodies and try it) then you know for sure it is the keyboard and not a driver issue with the computer.

Re: LIBRARIAN error
I had the same problem last week and was advised on a couple of things. Try this also
Open your Fantom-X Editor on you computer.
Go up to your Setup icon and click on SET UP MIDI DEVICES
Set your Fantom (input and output) and your through (input and output appropriately).
I have my Fantom connected to my M-Audio Firewire 410 so I have my MIDI SETUP AT:- Fantom input and Output as "port 1" AND
Through input and Output as "Firewire"
Basically not only do you need to check your MIDI Setup on the Fantom but also on the Editor/Librarian Sofware window.
Am still trying to figure out why my Sample Editor is not working under this conditions though. If you can help, let me know.

Librarian Error
I was able to connect my laptop with the Fantom X6 and I pressed the button that would allow my computer to read the user memory of the Fantom. My question is, how do you now save this into a file on the computer. When I attempted to save this file onto my computer, the save or save as menu was no highlighted. What am I doing wrong.

Just drag the file and drop it onto your computer's desktop
