My Screen Quit Working ! Help !

Post by onearm »

Morning Artemio...........and I am in mourning. Practiced with my X-7 this afternoon ( Saturday ), went to the gig tonight, set up, turned on my rig, and the screen never came on. Everything else seemed to go through its initial setup, and all the sounds and functions worked fine. But I couldn't see what I was doing. I learned pretty fast how many times to move the cursor button up or down through my list of sequenced tunes to find the "invisible" where-abouts, since our duo gig is all sequenced. Anyway, the LCD contrast knob does nothing to the blank screen either. I also just installed a 1-gig compact flash card, and have been transfering my XP-80 sequences over. That wouldn't freak out the visual would it? Got any suggestions? It's less than a year old.

Thanks

its probably just the back light that is dead... it is relatively a inexpensive repair probably about $120 to replace the inverter board... including labor, that is just a guess.. i have replaced the inverter board on many laptops and it is not such a big deal..

good luck

May just be a connector, also. It's very rare for the entire panel to go dead. The CF card probably has nothing to do with it. As a double check, however, take it out, shine a light in the slot, and look for bent or shorted pins.

This happened to me twice with 2 different Fantom-X6 and it happened when I Traveled with i t(On Planes) so it looks like the Screen gets a shock or something which burns the LCD light.

Screen Quit Working...........

Post by onearm »

Hey thanks to all you guys with your suggestions on what the problem was with my screen. Bassman was the winner with the correct answer.....just a loose connection. After removing about 60 screws, a keybed, and a couple of circuit boards, I found a small connector that wasn't in it's place. Now all's well and picture perfect. Thanks again.

Great!

Glad it was something straight forward and simple (except for all of the parts you had to remove).

Yeah my Fatom's screen doesn't always load up untill it's finished the flash intro and gets to the main mixer window. It always freaks me the hell out. I really hope it's just a loose connection. Either way it seems that the screens are prone to this, or that there is a bug in the OS relevant to how it loads the screens drivers are something.
