Hey guys, Havent been here in ages, but nonetheless i have been wondering about buying a v-synth, now the prob is i am so out of the loop, i know the rackmount has come out, but my question is for 400 dollars cheaper is it worth it to get the rakcmount? i mean you lose out on so many real time knobs! plus a whole keybed and the dual d beams, can any one help me get some upto date info on the differences? thanks guys

Re: V-Synth?
A number of us on the forum also have V-Synths (including myself). I have the keyboard version of the V-Synth. I don't use it for live performance though, so my requirements are not going to be the same as yours. If you have any questions about the keyboard version, I'd be happy to answer them. Artemio also has a V-Synth and a V-Synth forum called V-Tribe (http://www.v-tribe.info/forum/). You might find some of the answers to your questions there.
For me, I got the V-Synth just after the XT came out. I chose the keyboard version specifically for the various control surfaces (TimeTrip Pad, dual D-Beams, 61-key synth action keyboard with channel aftertouch, 2 control pedal inputs, 1 hold pedal input, pitch/mod lever, and all the dedicated buttons dials and sliders). The XT adds a color screen and both V-Cards pre-installed but has next to none of the control surfaces. The touch screen doubles as the TimeTrip Pad, though I have my doubts calling a substitute. It has no keyboard, no pitch/mod lever, no D-Beam, and only a few knobs and buttons. However, as I don't own the XT, I can't give any first-had experience. I'd suggest getting some info from XT owners and see what they think.

Partho, I want a deal like yours man. The XT is expensive in Toronto. The 61-key is $1500 CDN and the XT is $2700 CDN last time i checked.

Re: V-Synth?
The XT has the VC-1 and VC-2 integrated for free so the difference in price becomes more apparent. I'm under the impression you aren't aware of this fact.

Re: V-Synth?
no i am aware, but truthfully i heard alot of the waves were in the V-synth recreated that were in the D-50, im not really to big of a fan of old school keyboards, though some of the stuff from early george micheals cds sure did sound good with it lol, im more in for the VC2 with the choir modeling and tone changing, plus i can always buy a VC1 later on for like 150 on Ebay, i would rather have a seperate TTP, the MFX structure buttons, and espcially all the knobs for the diff osc and cosm effects,

Re: V-Synth?
Then why did you mention the V-synth XT being 2700 instead of 2300 after buying the VC-2. Or was this price difference the tax?
