Undo function?

Does anybody else besides me find it weird that the "undo" feature is so oddly placed?

Is there some way that one of you geniuses have figured out how to to like assign it o a pad or some other key or something?

I mess up a lot right now, so I want that undo handy!

I agree!
I am also a newbie, and have to undo a lot...but, if it was too easy to access, I would make even more mistakes that I cannot "redo"!
BTW, Welcome. I have received a lot of help, and just by browsing and reading the threads has been super-super-helpful!

True. I think I remember my XP-50 having a dedicated undo button.
Seems odd they went without it this time....

One thing you could do is switch the recording type to REPLACE instead of mix. Doing this would enable you to just record over the part you messed up instead of going through the undo sequence. The only thing you have to remember is that you'd have to replace the entire part to completely get the previous take off the sequencer.

Sorry, theologiae but AFAIK the Xa don't even has as UNDO function. That' one of the other diferences from the X and S.

So, hit me if I'm wrong but you've got to post a pic of that button

fix the mix,
check out the photo on this site. under images of the Xa. the undo button is right above the red record button. it says erase/undo.
now, from your tone, are you taking about something esle. this button just undues the last performance, i.e. "undo real time control" or "undo micro-edit"
is there somthing to the X's undo that's so much better?
the Xa only has one level of undo. i'm a photo shop user so i was hoping it would have many lears of undo. it that it?

I've tested the Xa for a few moments but never noticed that undo button and I for sure miss it in my X7.
Now I have a reason to be jealous from Xa owners.
No, the UNDO function in X7 has only one level and you've got to acess it through the MENU.
Sorry for the "AFAIK" thing. I personally don't like it very much too but when you're in a hurry you've got to write ASAP (As Soon As Possible) ))

I agree with - I want an undo button!!!, it was probably one of the most used buttons on my xp80.

it is my inequity that makes me dislike the acronyms. i don't comunicate on the computure any more then on this site. so, i just have to srugg when some one uses them. i can't spell either, so be it.

any way, i was just thrilled that after months of so many on the site dogging the Xa, that for once, there is one thing that Xa has. not that that should sway the next buyer, i do use the undo all the time, but hell.

and just for me, i chose the Xa over the X, not for the money, i just liked what it had and didn't miss the things it didn't. And i'm hoping that we might get a bootleg update like the X's 2.0 with some audio tracks.
