O.k , am like in "PERFOMANCE" mode where I set up some cool patches on the "LAYER/SPLIT" section. Some piano, saxophones, guitars and drums and bass in 5 tracks. So far so good.

I press song edit 2 take me 2 the sequencer where I can start recording.

I select track 1 on the sequencer and record the drums. This is going great!

Then I go 2 track 2 where I want 2 play the bass.....but it seems 2 be playing the saxophone. Now I know that on the layereing section, saxophone was on track 2 but I want 2 play bass on my sequencer?s track 2. I have check marked it on the layering section so I figured this would be trouble free but it?s not!

I thought that the sequencer was flexible enough 2 play whatever instrument in whichever track regardless of the track format setup in the layering (LAYER/SPLIT).

Somebody help....and is it a standard thang 4 the drums/pads 2 be at track 10 in the fantom x or is this changable?

Hi db

for the sake of "easy of use" the sequencer starts assigning the track number to the corresponding part. So if you have Sax on part 2 and have it selected when you hit record, the Fantom automatically selects track2. If you do not wish to record on this track just use DEC/INC or dial to select another track. You have total flexibility on this to the point were you can have all your 16 parts played by just one track.

Well 1 solution might be 4 you 2 move 1 track 2 track 2 and then 2 tracks 2 track 1 2.

There is a system setting to specify if the fantom picks tracks automatically. I disabled it as soon as i started to use the sequencer as i prefer to select which patch i'm using in a performance and then record it. I hate the auto-track picking.

"Well 1 solution might be 4 you 2 move 1 track 2 track 2 and then 2 tracks 2 track 1 2"

U can also move 2 tracks 2 track 3 to 2 free tracks and use track 1 and 2 again so u can have 1 2 3 with 3 2 .... 1 .... or is it 2 2 .... and 4 ... mmmm ... hahhhh 2 1 3 .....
....
....
