I've read that a number of SRX cards are compilations of SR-JV cards. Do those ones contain ALL waveforms from said cards or just a number? For example, I'm interested in the SRX-09 World Collection card which includes waveforms from the SR-JV80-18 World Collection Latin board. Does it include ALL the waveforms from that SR-JV board or only a few select ones? The preset I specifically need from that board is #67 RomanticTp and my choices are either:
A) SR-JV80-18 for 300 bucks - and stuff it in a JV-1080 I don't have the space for at the moment. A bit of a waste in my opinion.
B) SRX-09 for also 300 bucks - and stuff it in the Fantom-XR that (temporarily) replaced the JV-1080 in my rack
C) SD-90 for -again- 300 bucks when one pops up for sale - also a bit of a waste although I'd get access to the XV-5080 sounds too.

Re: Question about SRX cards derived from SR-JV cards
Hello Xeraser:
I have a Fantom X8 with several SRX cards installed. I can tell you that I got my cards at around $50 to $120 each. Yes, they are expensive. I set up eBay filters to monitor things when auctions come online.
I bought a SRX-98 for $116.60, a SRX-09 for $$74.20, and the SRX-01 for $59.21.
I would suggest trying that route if you are able to.
Unfortunately, I am unsure if the SRX cards match any of the JV80 series.
Please, let us know what you find out.
Best,
BC

Unfortunately both SR-JV and SRX cards are very expensive (bucks as in eurobucks this time!) in Europe, especially the "World" cards and the ones with "vintage" instruments.battlecate wrote: ↑19:26, 19 April 2022 Hello Xeraser:

I know that some SRX cards are compilations of 3 previous SR-JV80 cards plus some waveforms from a fourth card. What I'd like to know is if the first 3 cards contain all their waveforms.
If you still have the SRX-09 card could you kindly try to load the converted SR-JV80 patches you can find here viewtopic.php?p=227509#p227509 and see if patch 67 (which should be "RomanticTp") in the SR-JV80-18 file plays correctly?
A few years ago I found a .bin file for the SRX World VST that contained the original patches for those SR-JV80 cards and while that one patch was included it didn't play correctly whatsoever. Had no FX, no sustain, etcetera. Just sounded wrong in general. Some of the other VSTs had matching .bin files too but most of the presets didn't work correctly so I just gave up on the VSTs altogether and decided to hunt down a Fantom-X (ideally an XV-5080 but those are also outrageously expensive compared to the Fantom-X, even an X6) and the cards separately.

I think the SR-JV80 "compilation" cards are only the SRX-06, 07, 08, 09 and the "SRX-96 World Collection and Legendary XP" which appears to be a promotional board with waveforms from the SRX-09 and the XP series keyboards (aka JV-1080s with a keyboard)
From what I could gather this promotional board had a very limited number of waveforms and patches and it wasn't even a full 64mb board unlike the rest of the SRX boards.
Re: Question about SRX cards derived from SR-JV cards
Ended up trading my SRX-12 for the SRX-09 and loading the patches. Unfortunately, no, that one doesn't play correctly, just like it didn't on the VST.
Ahhh well, at least I got the card.
