Fantom X series support
Fantom X series support
Am I correct in thinking that the Fantom X series is no longer supported (Editor, Librarian,S700 sample converter ) in High Sierra ? If so it is a pretty poor show from Roland !
Re: Fantom X series support
Hmmm FanX began life in 2004 and was replaced by FanG in 2008.
I'm not sure what other companies you know give support for over ten years.
It is Apple that gives me the ...
Even minor OS updates seem to cause, apps and drivers fall apart and must cost thousands of unrecoverable dollars for manufactures just to keep even current products working.
I have my Mac Mini sitting next to my PC, but I gave up writing software for it some time ago, even for my own use.
I suspect this is why there isn't the same amount of free software for Apple as there is for other platfoems.
That begin said, Win10 seems to have difficulties with the older Roland software as well.
It would be really nice if Roland made all their older synth editors' source code available.
Then the community could maintain it for them.
Perhaps having old synths means you need to keep a old computer with an old OS.
