MPC files transferred to X6

Post by Mr Layz »

Can I use sequences and sounds saved on disk for a MPC 2000, and transfer them over to the X6. Now keep in mind that I dont have the MPC anymore. So can I put the disk into my computer and transfer it over. I know its probably wishful thinking but it dont hurt to ask..........

No, boss. You need a program like the Translator to convert the MPC sequences and sounds to Fantom format. I know Translator will convert the sounds but I am not 100% sure about converting the sequences.

Maybe Nate can ring in here and give you a solid answer.

Nate?

Hi guys.

My understanding of Translator is that it will indeed translate your MPC programs to Fantom patches or performances. However, it won't translate sequences from any platform. If your MPC files are saved as MIDI files, you should be able to load the sequences into your Fantom, but if they are in any other format, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Oh, Translator can be found here
