Primarily used to play synth sounds
Any of you guys using your Fantoms to play primarily analogish synth tones? Moog, Prophet, Juno... Anyone using their Fantoms the same way another person might use an Access Virus or Nord Lead?
Re: Primarily used to play synth sounds
I love the analog leads on the X, they are much more expressive and easily tweaked than the previous generation JV-80 I had or the Studio M, which was similar to a D110 before that. Reminds me more of my first synth which was a JX-3P - actually analog, but not the cream of the crop for its time. They do have the Kiwi 3P which looks pretty cool and gets the full functionality out of that board, but it's pre velocity sensitive - if you can handle that.
Back to the X, I like taking the synth leads and pads and playing with the cutoff and resonance. I'm sure there is a lot more that can be done if you dig deeper both with the synth engine and effects processors.
