Random silence?

I am having some intermittent problems when controlling my Fantom X6 with my PC3. The Fantom's Local setting is set to Off and I am working entirely in Performance mode on the Fantom (setup mode on the PC3)

Being intermittent they are hard to pin down but I know that a few minutes ago I couldn't get Channel 1 to sound on the Fantom. I had a zone on my PC3 that got its MIDI input from the Fantom and should have been playing sound on the Fantom Ch1, but no sound came out. Ch1 was still receiving a program change just fine, and other channels sounded fine. The volume in Part view was at 127 and I'm fairly sure there wasn't anything on the PC3 that should have been sending silence on Volume or Expression. When I restarted the Fantom the problem went away, which seems to imply that the PC3 wasn't sending any bad messages, or else it would have sent them again.

Usually I have a problem like this because I have forgotten that one of the zones in a PC3 setup is solo'd, or that I have the "cursor" on the Fantom on a channel/part other than #1. But I'm fairly sure this was not the problem.

Any ideas at all?
