... I think that ROLAND has extended a hand toward this forum and all who participate and perhaps it is time that we all swallow hard and look at the amazing opportunity that is before us. I will admit that I was one of the most adamant protestants when I learned that s88 did not support win 98 se. However, over the last year plus I have seen ROLAND make more moves to incorporate it's purchasers/supporters into it's business plan than any other Corportation I am currently aware of. Sure Y and K and A and etc... have been obviously aware for a while now. Have they offered any better solution to the actual "supreme" machine that everyone hopes to obtain? Obviously not or we would be having this discussion on another forum. I admit to being one that is quick to object yet slow to actually act. This may be one time that I am glad I just, Waited To See. I think ROLAND just may be stepping up to the plate on our virtual community. JMIO!

Roland certainly is exhibiting signs of, at least, capitilizing on Artemio's efforts. They are also starting to ethically treat Artemio himself. We have to realize that all of this is about business. As long as Roland recognizes the benefits of nurturing Artemio, this community, and the purchasing power that it represents, they will most likely support him/it/us until it becomes non-beneficial to them. After all, Roland is a corporate entity, and is in the business to make money. Ethics is a good indicator of the quality of a corporation. I am still reserving judgement on Roland, since I consider some of the stuff they have done to be questionable in regards to the ethical treatment of their customers. It would be nice to know some of the reasons (facts and data) which have driven them to do certain things in the recent past.

I believe that inevitably Roland has to acknowledge the force to be reckoned with known as Fantomized Forum. They have a captive audience of more than 1300 here. I would venture to say that the number of translators at Roland is growing as we speak. When you think about Roland Corp. per se, they are dealing with translation issues especially when they are trying to translate more than just English, Czech, Ukranian, Russian, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Portuguese, Spanish, they must also translate Hip/Hop, Slang etc.... Can you imagine what a translator thinks when they read on this forum that SOANDSO said that this keyboard is the SH!% or some other terminology. I do not envy their job of translating what they could read in some of these posts. JMIO
