Best X series PC card storage

What is the best storage mode for the X series PC card? Use an actual PC card - or PC card holder and swap SmartMedia cards around? I'm used to floppy's and CD's still. The little SM cards are new to me and seem like they might not hold up so well with the circuit board open to light and heat when out of the workstation in the little packing sleeve. But if they actually are sturdy and durable when kept in the sleeves they come in between uses, it seems they would be ideal to use for switching setups back and forth, storing completed songs and performances, tweaked patches, various data edits. Thanks, jake

I'm a fan of the Compact Flash format. Not the smallest, but physically robust and a good value. Plus, the insertion/extraction scheme is well implemented (it will only go in one way). A wide variety of storage and carrying accesories on the market, and easy to use in other gear. Also compatible with Canon digital cameras.

In fact, the F-X makes a handy, albeit rather big

compactflash drive for your PC. I actually had to do this when my GF needed her pictures backed up for an emergency photo shoot.. and my regular 6-in-1 reader thing wasn't working so I juse used the keyboard.
Error 144 - Reboot y/n?

I use a PC Card 4 in 1 Adapter and currently use Smartmedia Cards. They work great. Compast Flash would be great too. Plus I use the adapter for my digital cameras Smartmedia cards to read the pics into Photoshop.
