Re: How to Control Tremolo on Knobs and how to Control Filte
Hi.
Just press the shift button while moving the knob you want to assign. If you want to assign the D-Beam to anything, press shift and the "Assign" button just below it.
I have a question for FX experts: I'd like to control the filter cuttof of my Supernova, with the D-Beam. The problem I'm having is that it's mapped to CC105 and the Assign function of the D-Beam does not go beyond CC99. Is there anyway to reach greater CC in the FX?
Thanks in advance
Jordi

Re: How to Control Tremolo on Knobs and how to Control Filte
Hi Jordi.
I have the Fantom-X8. Actually, the highest continuous controller number the FX goes up to is 95 for the D-Beam unfortunately. The only other MIDI messages that can be sent with the D-Beam are pitch bend (up or down) and channel aftertouch. You can also modify the arpeggio parameters, sequencer start/stop, and tap tempo. Is there any way to program your SuperNova to adjust the filter cutoff via aftertouch or pitch bend, or perhaps a different CC message?

Yes, it's easy to assign modulation to filter in the Supernova, but if you do, you are obviously loosing the modulation controller for other purposes (or whatever controller you use for achieving this).
It's a shame Roland engineers don't think about stupid things like this.

Re: How to Control Tremolo on Knobs and how to Control Filte
Is the Supernova restricted to standard MIDI CC controllers such as modulation? I kind of doubt it since the default controller number is a non-standard one (105). Who said anything about assigning modulation to filter cutoff in the Supernova? You could use any controller number such as 3, 9, 12 through 15, 20 through 37, 39 through 63, 70, 79, or 85 through 90. None of those CC numbers are used for anything on the Fantom and none of those are standardized for anything that I know of. You could leave modulation (CC 001) alone.

Re: How to Control Tremolo on Knobs and how to Control Filte
Well, the Supernova's modulation matrix though being very easy and extremely fast to work with is rather limiting in the number of sources and destinations (as many analog synths); so you only can assign filter cutoff to lfos, envelopes and the wheel (modulation).
It has quite sense because most of the CC's are still used for transmiting every parameter the synth has.

im sure u can assign it to TVA and TVFs including the lfos
