Fantom S power supply

Post by defector »

Hey guys,
here's my first post :) (been lurking the forums for quite a while, but everything i always wanted to ask was already answered, so i always used the search function, which lead me to finding good useful info - so, kudos to all of you :) )

However, i got a question that i couldn't find an answer to, hence my cry for help :):

- a friend recently had his power supply fail on his workstation (a Korg M3), and this made me think - are the power supplies inside the Fantoms switchable? mine comes from the US, and i've been using a 220-110v converter for it; while this isn't a problem, i got paranoid and started to think what am i gonna do if the converter failed on me...and here, such converters are hard to find, so i might restock in advance :). However, i saw that on the back of the board, the power connector is the standard 3-prong one (specific to the switching power supplies), but on the label near the power plug it says "117v". So, my question is - do i need to get a replacement 220-110v converter, or is the suppli really switchable ?
Thanks!
