Ultimate Keys - white noise
Ultimate Keys - white noise
I got the Ultimate Keys expansion board at Ebay. Everything seems fine except patch #466 FunkyDrummer which produces a lot of white noise/buzzing in the background (it's unusable). Can someone check it for me - is this normal or did I get a broken SRX card? Thanks!
Re: Ultimate Keys - white noise
Could someone check it? Is it possible it is caused by an effect added to the patch? Sorry, I'm a total newbie.
Re: Ultimate Keys - white noise
Try reseating the card, ie taking out the card and re-installing it. You may have a dirty contact or just a bad connection because of misalignment.
A bit strange though that only this one patch would be affected, I'd expect a few patches at least to have similar problems.

Hi szurcio,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Monday turned into a bit of a nightmare! Anyway, I had a look at the Patch this morning, and you've got nothing to worry about.
Patch #466 FunkyDrummer uses wave #689 AL Funk 120 in mono. If you Initialise a Patch & select that wave you should hear that it is clean, so it's not the waveform.
The noise is coming from the Lo-Fi Noise MFX that the Patch uses. Go to Patch #466 and press [EFFECTS]. Press [F3] to get to the MFX 1 settings. If you turn down the W/P Noise Level, Disc Noise Level and Hum Noise Level you should get back to the clean sample. Easier still, just turn that MFX off.
Hope this helps

No worries. Just glad you haven't got a duff board
