Is it really possible to create folders within a memory card
If so, how? I was told this was possible by another member.

Hi mr. claudio,
When you've got the memory card connected to your PC, simply create a new folder (or as many as you want). I created a folder called OTHER on my card.
In there you can put as many SVQ files as you want and space will allow.
Then, with the card inserted in your Fantom, you can go to [MENU] > File Utility and cut, copy and move files around there.
A hint: get a system for how you'll work with the files and stick to it, so you don't overwrite something you don't want to. I learned that the hard way.
)
Cheers
Andy

Thank you Andy.
Re: Is it really possible to create folders within a memory
mr. claudio, which OS version do you have?
On my Fantom I have currently well over 300 SVQ files and all of them are accessible in the Live Play mode as well as in the other modes, too.
I think there should be no problem to keep up to 999 SVQ's on one storage card accessible without having to copy or move files in additional folders.
My OS version: 2.10

Do not be confused by the number of available Patches / Performances at one given time (without changing the the FANX. files) - that is 256.
The number of SVQ files is dependent on it's size and the the memory available in the CF card, nothing else.

Oh ok...I got confused because Artemy told me only 256 no matter the memory card size. I have a 2 gig card....I'll definately be fine.....Im only at 172 songs. The reason I ask is because I want to keep all my original compisitions on one card.....and all my songs that include samples on several other cards...
Re: Is it really possible to create folders within a memory
Was I asleep when Roland increased the limit of 256 songs? With which update did that happen? :-/
Re: Is it really possible to create folders within a memory
Art, I think you were not asleep !!! LoL
I wanted to sound clear, but I made even a bigger confusion...
What I wanted to say was:
The Number of Songs in one set is 256 still (no...Roland didn't change this), but the number of songs that can be inside the CF card is is dependent on it's size and the the memory available in the CF card. If they can be accessed all at the same time ? of course not. Only 256 at a time. But having several directories as Storage for other sets of 256 songs, Performances, Patches, could be useful.
And that is what I wanted to say, but didn't came out properly...I'm sorry for the confusion.
take care

Oh ok. So how would I load/save songs on the other folders Once I reach the 256 limit on the 1st set.
Over 256 songs
I don't know, guys... My FantomX6 has no limitation.
(See attached picture)
Am I the only one? Wow!

PS: This is no fake! (OS: 2.10)

Re: Is it really possible to create folders within a memory
Is this a trick or real ?
What's your firmware version ?
I don't have an X, so I can't corroborate, but with my Xa, the maximum number of files "viewed" in the File Manager screen are 256, even if we have more in the CF card in the SNG dir, only the first 256 recorded files are viewed.

Re: Is it really possible to create folders within a memory
I think only internal memory is limited to 256... and the card is 2000 0r 999... I think...
The 'views' are different for the two...

This is very good news.
I am almost up to 256 on my card. So I can have unlimited svqs. That is a bonus!!
