I want to take one of my existing songs & add some of the Fantom-X internal rhythm patterns to it. How can I copy one into a pattern to put into the song. Does this make sense? Thanks.

Rhythm Patterns into Songs
Sorry to double post, but no one has offered any suggestions yet. I want to take one of my exitsting songs & add some of the Fantom-X internal rhythm patterns to it. How can I copy one into a pattern to put it into the song? Thanks.

Re: Rhythm Patterns into Songs
You want to record one (or more) of the preconfigured rythm patterns and insert that recording into the song you have?
Read the tutorial FXWS05: Sequencing Music on the Fantom-X (PDF) to understand the basic concepts of the Fantom sequencer. Recording rythms is explained on pages 14 and 15.

Re: Rhythm Patterns into Songs
I think I know where you're coming from with this question because using patterns is a quick and easy way to construct a song from scratch. With that said...
It's one thing to learn how to do stuff, it's another thing entirely to teach somebody else what you've learned. Teaching isn't an innate ability. It requires alot of time, thought and effort.
Using patterns on the Fantom isn't intuitive. The manuals tell you what it is and what it does, but doesn't really give you any detailed instructions as to HOW you can make it do what it is supposed to do.
I don't have time right at this moment to work out a detailed reply. I found a tutorial on the web for using patterns on the Fantom, and if I can find the link I'll post it here. In the meantime, I'd suggest scouring the web for info on the Fantom. I've even found video demos on Youtube which show people using the Fantom in performances. If you want to find something, there's nothing like looking to get you started.

Re: Rhythm Patterns into Songs
Odly enough, I figured out two ways to do it, although it may not be what is listed in the tutorial. By triggering the dynamic pads with the specified rhythm patterns, in the record mode, I can place those patterns in the song where needed. The actual patterns are converted to notes (not patterns). Or I can also trigger the pads in song pattern record, & store them there. The later was my goal. I know, it's just a matter of spending the time to figure out this beast. The X is an incredible machine, & I'm still finding out more about it after 3 years of experimenting. Thanks Patrick & tzoid for your time & answers! And thanks to Artemiy for a great forum! It has always been a huge help in the past.
