Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Easy questions:
1.What do you love?
2.What do you miss?
3.What do you hate?
4.What do you recommend now?
5.Is the actual lower price attractive or the Fantom G or a Motift XS the better choice?
Thanx for answers.

Re: Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Its a bit early to ask this question for people who own the X because none have tried the G so your not going to get real answer to the question..
but have said that..
Its a buyers market...
Price will always dictate what you get.
if your a newbie and never had an x..
buy the G
If my X was stolen would I buy it again?
if the G was not available as a choice.. yes
The G being available I would try the G before making a decision of choice..

Right....what Quinnx said...
If it were stolen, I'd buy it again if the G were not available...But if it got stolen while G is available then the choice would have to be a G.

Unless I got a great deal on an X6 under $1000.
Re: Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Get a Sonic Cell. Plunk it on your Fantom-G- then you have most of the X and all of the G.

YES
We are moving into our new Church building in September, and will have the stage room to get our grand piano back from the piano sitters.
I am hoping to find a good deal on an X6 or X7 so I don't have to lug my X8 back and forth every week.

I would get a sonic cell, in fact I'd get 2 sonic cell for the price of one XR

Re: Would you buy your Fantom X again?
If you do not need sampling, get a SonicCell and 2 SRX boards, that will still be cheaper than the XR. Though, XR is still the current top rack offer from Roland, and you can load it with Planet V

Re: Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Yes I would buy another X8! I am extremely happy with it. It is a veritable tank as far as construction is concerned. The sounds are truly powerful - this baby can roar!
And the money I save from buying a G would allow me to look at the new Kurzweils. While I love Roland - I own 4 Roland synths/workstations in addition to gear from the other big manufacturers, it is time to upgrade from my venerable K2000. I find that Kurzweil boards complement Rolands very nicely - complexity + warmth + flexibility.
Besides, Kurzweil easily competes with the OASYS at virtually half the price
Back to the X8: Even with the release of the G, the X is in no way outdated or obsolete. There is untapped power and possibilities in this piece of kit. Since it is a seller's market, I would be able to purchase another X for a fraction of the cost of what I originally paid.

I DID! First the Fantom X8 and then the Fantom XR. I have no regrets. They are both amazing, and the XR gives me 6 additional SRX slots while nicely complimenting Sonar.Would you buy your Fantom X again?

I would but I don't think the guy who I sold it to would agreeWould you buy your Fantom X again?

Re: Would you buy your Fantom X again?
Absolutely! I have the X8 and X6. These boards have inspired me greatly. If I move up to the G, I may get an XR for the SRX slots and multi-sampling.

I love my X6, but wouldnt buy another one
would rather get a good midi controller and then go with soft synth modules . I am pretty much done buying keyboards. I am sure in the near feautre we will have complete pc workstation with keys exclusive for music production, korg oasys was almost there.
