Hey there. Thinking about getting an expansion board. Had an older XP-30 with Hip Hop and Techno sound card in it.
The way I understand it, "Platinum Trax" combines and repackages the old Techno and Hip Hop cards. But it would seem to me that these older sounds won't take advantage of the newer technology in the X7's brain.
Would like to get some more sounds on my Fantom X7 now. Miss some of the old sounds. But am willing to get a totally new set.
Is the "Supreme Dance" card all new stuff, designed for the Fantom X7? (it IS a lame name, but maybe the card is okay anyhow)
I will also be getting the "Complete Orchestra" set. And at some point "World". But I would really like to plan this out well. Because I know at some point I will have all 4 bays full, and then I will be scratching my head!
Which is better? "Platinum Trax" or "Supreme Dance"?

Re: Which is better? "Platinum Trax" or "Supreme Dance"?
I think Supreme Dance is better. There are a lot of loops in Platinum Trax and they sound cool when you first get it. Then you realize these loops have been out there for years.
Supreme Dance also has better drum kits in my opinion. Since this is an area where I think the Fantom is a bit weak, this alone makes it worth it if you are doing dance, etc. But I guess it depends on what you are doing. To my ears anyway, a lot of house music uses the same sounds from 10 years ago. So I guess that Platinum Trax might be good if you are into "standard" house music. But uf you are trying to do something newer, S.D. is the first one to get.
You know what is also good and free - check out the Fantom soundsets at http://www.synthdesign.de. This guy should get a Nobel prize for great sound design.
