Sample pops , what to do..

Post by vishal »

Recently I tried to sample a sound through a mic. When I started the work of editing I found a really unwanted poping sound when in single shot mode , however when in forward mode the sound was actually not so irritating because it was being covered by the next coming loop. Has anybody faced such a problem.

Depends what you mean by 'pops' - digital or analogue. If analogue, and your sampling singing, then without a 'pop' shield you will get pops via singing plosives - 'p'.

If it's digital, then you may be clippping the signal and getting digital distortion - put a compressor or limiter on the input. Hope you sort it.
