Multiple hits in external sequencer

1)I am using Protools to sequence my X6 and I am getting multiple hits(or midi notes recorded) when I am playing in the notes. What causes this and how do I stop it from occuring?

2)Also in performance mode, if I do not turn off MIDI THRU in Protools, when I change a patch in the Fantom it will also change another patch in the same performance. It's seems random and I'm not sure what causes this. Can I filter that change off somehow? I want to change the sounds locally in the Fantom with local off, and play the notes into PT then back out to Fantom. I need midi thru on in PT to hear the sound I am auditioning so it's a serious pain in the ass right now.

For starters
Do a factory reset but not before doing a user backup

midi thru off on both pro tools and fantom
fantom: MENU/SYSTEM/MIDI
switch off all transmits like prg chng etc..
do the same for recieves

start testing the system and

now work you way forward.

If your your triggering fantom through the ext. sequencer (using the fantom's keyboard) you will want to turn "local off" on the fantom.

I forget where, but i think its under keyboard in the system menu (not in front of the x at the moment)

So I am getting Four hits everytime I record a single note into PT with my fantom. Has anyone else had this problem, know what causes it and if there's anything I can do to resolve the issue? my Fantom is appearently kicking out multiple hits when used as a midi controler. Editing the midi is a painful experience at this point.

Did you find the "local off" in the system menu on the fantom?

It sounds like your getting multiple midi echo - a midi loop of some sort from both sequencers.

Figured it out. Inside of performance mode on the first screen which shows the piano keys, I had 5 of the KBD parts checked. so I was getting 5 hits each time I played a note because of this.
