Loading downloaded patches from CF card

Post by crockbob »

I recently purhcased a new Fantom X7. I downloaded Nathan Seldon's patches from the Patches section of Fantomized to my PC, and transferred them to a CF card. I was unable to see them on the Fantom on the card. His files are .mid files. Please clarify the directory I should store them in on the CF card, and the easiest, safest was to try them on the Fantom. I know the CF card works because I have saved some patches on it directly from the Fantom.

So did you see the Patches in User area after downloading them from your PC?

When I'm downloading MIDI files to the Fantom XR, in Librarian Mode, it writes to the User area... If I prefer to save them to a Card, I would hit shift, write, then press the right cursor button to move from User to Card and choose a location...

You could also backup both User banks to a card, but to retrieve them, the Fantom would have to retart each time...

crockbob,

.mid files should be in the Roland/Seq/Sng directory. They are Midi files and are loaded and played as you would any Midi song file. This will load the Patch and make it available for you to save to a User or Card location if you wish.

Just saw Napalm's post. That should work, also. Try 'em both.
