User friendly?

How is the keyboard in feel?

Soundquality compared to Fantom X?

1) Very user friendly. Easy to learn, but there's lots to master.

2) I'm not a connesiour of fine keybeds, but even I can tell that the Xa's keys are kind of lacking. that being said, you get used to them and they certainly do the trick, they just don't have as visceral a feel to them as I would like...

3) No idea, as i've never really played with an X. People say the big X sounds better, but I don't know if they're just talking about the extra two banks of sounds, or if it sounds better overall.

I love my Xa, I would reccomend it for sure if you can't stomach paying nearly twice as much for a small handfull of (very useful) extra features... but if you have the extra coin, then I say go stragiht for the big X.

Pearls of wisdom, no mistake, but I bought a Fantom-Xa anyways

I originally bought an Xa, and I ended up taking it back and getting an X6. The Xa was everything Roland claimed it would be and I'm certain there are tons of people out there who are perfectly happy with it. But for me the "big X" was worth the extra coin, for reasons like the real power cord (nice for gigging), the color screen (I'm lazy and it's easier to navigate), the improved key feel, and overall I do think it sounds a little nicer but that might just be because my brain wants it to be nicer to justify the $$.

Agreed. I had an Xa, too, and took it back for an X7.

I spend too much time in front of my Fantom for it to be anything but best one available.

I really didn't have the xtra money to get the bigger X's & seeing as I already own the XV 5050, i really didn't need to stress it. The XA is better than anything in its price range & a great addition to my set up.
