Hi Folks - Help is needed

Hi everybody
the last 2hrs I got over this forum and read lots of threads!
Nice place here - lots of very interesting threads and answers!
So - I decided to register - even I am not a FantomS-user!
But I am looking for a 88 keyboard - until now, I play everything on a Kurzweil K2600 - but I want to have 88keys!
So the FS88 comes to the final and is against the new Mo ES8! I don´t want to begin an old discussion about this two instruments - one guy prefers this and the other that!

There are three things, that I am interested in/wanted to know
1st:
What was the heaviest argument for you to go for a FS??

2nd:
I want to get an impression about the sounds of FS - maybe you guys have made songs with ONLY the FS - if so, please @mail me! markus.d.w@gmx.de
That would be very helpful!

3rd:
wy don´t you have an upload link here for audible mp3s made by forum-users??

Hope for answers
Thanx

Hi Inspirator.

Greetings from Brazil.

Welcome to this comunity.

I don't have Fantom-S yet, and like you, due to the playability, I also prefer 88 keys. More extension, more freedom to walk through the notes.
You were asking about this forum, things like mp3 made by users.
There are some topics here that give you links to user's songs. Songs that show the versatility and features of this baby.
There are also tunes with sampled voices to give you examples of how FS works when MIDI and audio are integrated. But you will find most of these links visiting the Fantom-s's home page.
http://fantom-s.info

There are links to users and official demos, samples for download, articles about Fantom-S and its features, and much, much, much, much, much, much and much more.

Just make a tour for this site and decide for your self.

Have fun!

Peace - Edu Camargo

The strongest point (towards the Fantom S) for me was the sound.

I originally wanted to buy the Motif ES, but the more i listened to it the more i realized that it had not the sound i was looking for. I listened to the demos at motifator.com, i listened to every sound library and to every expansion board available. That gave me a good impression of the sonics of the Motif family.

Then i listened to all the Fantom S demos, to all the SRX boards and i fell in love with the (overall) Roland sound. But this is all very subjective and personal and only you can decide on the sound that you are looking for.

I would describe the Motif sound as more realistic and the Fantom S sound as more "produced". For example: a bass guitar on the Motif sounds the way a good bass guitar would sound if you would record it through a d.i. box into your computer. A bass guitar on the Fantom S sounds like a bass guitar you would hear on a (hit) record. Very tight, punchy, and "just right". I prefer the second option but for somebody else it might be different.

Both are great synths and the K2600 also sounds still very impressive, imho.

Viel Glück bei deiner Entscheidung.
