V-Synth tips

1) Recently, my midi patchbay died and I could no longer use all my synths on stage. My solution: I sampled a couple of DX-7 sounds from my Yamaha FS1-R and Variphrase of my V-Synth did the rest. In fact, I only sampled 1 note C3. A good alternative when you need a sound quickly and playable up to 2 octaves
Tip: DX-7 samples are also a good start for FM patches on your V-Synth. Add a Waveshaper COSM, use an X-MOD as a 2nd oscilator, use the FM modulation etc
2) I use the digital I/O interface to hook up my V-synth with my Fantom. No more mixer needed, less noise, less cabling. I can now use the balanced out's of the Fantom and plug them straigth into my monitor.
