1) I'm sure it is in the manual, but if I was guessing I would say that they are outputs from the computer so you can mix recorded or VST sound with the incoming 10 channels and send them to the Main/headphone hardware outputs.
2)Again, in the manual, but guessing I would say you can turn this mixer off and just have a 10 input audio interface presented to your computer and do all the mixing in the DAW.
