Re: Planet V: giant new sound expansion library for Roland F
I have another issue that I'm hoping someone can please help me with.
I am trying to use Librarian to install the Planet packs.
I downloaded the Librarian software and the Fantom X USB MIDI driver onto my Mac.
However, I've tried several times to install the USB Driver, following all of the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work. (Yes, I downloaded the version for Macs)
There is no icon that shows up in my Applications folder or on the desktop. My computer tells me that it's successfully installed, but I can't find it anywhere on my computer after the installation process and required restart.
So, because of this, I can't seem to get Librarian to work. In the 'Setup Midi Devices' area of the Librarian software on my computer, my Fantom doesn't show up in the 'Input' and 'Output' scroll down sections.
And, when I switch to Librarian mode on the Fantom itself, the screen is basically blank, with a small 'Exit' option in the bottom, right-hand corner.
Any ideas of what might be happening here?
I really appreciate your help with this!!

After you install the USB driver, connect your Fantom to your Mac with a USB cable and launch the Audio MIDI Setup application (it's in the Utilities folder). You will now see the driver, click on "Add device" and then connect this new device to the driver, that's it. From now on, you'll see your Fantom in the MIDI devices list.

Thanks, Artemiy.
Is it the 'IAC Driver' that I should add as a device? I'm given that, as well as two other options in the 'Midi Devices' category: 'Network' and 'USB Keystation 49e'.

Make sure your Fantom is in USB MIDI mode (switch it on in the system settings), then you should see it there and connect to the driver like this:

Re: Planet V: giant new sound expansion library for Roland F
Thanks again for your help! But still having a problem... ughh.
I put my Fantom into USB: MIDI mode, and then I managed to connect my Fantom X to the new external device (just as your picture shows).
Then, I went into Librarian on my Fantom, opened the Librarian software on my Mac, and followed the steps to loading the Planet F patches.
When I transfer the 200 patches to the Main Window, and then press 'Write All', I get a message saying that 'it appears the Fantom X is unconnected or connected incorrectly.'
In the 'Setup Midi Devices' area of the Librarian software, my Fantom appears in the scroll down option. I selected it for the Fantom-X Input/Output. Should I also select it for 'Through'?
Also, my Librarian screen on the Fantom itself, is blank for this whole process. Not sure if that's normal....?
Frustrating...
Eric

Any idea what the problem could be, Artemiy? Sorry to bother you with this, but I can't seem to get it figured out.
I've tried all sorts of things, and followed the directions closely, but the Librarian Software always says that my Fantom is not connected when I try to write the patches in the Main window.
My Fantom is connected to my 'New External Device' in the Audio MIDI setup of my Mac. And, I've used the USB cable to install other patches, so I know it's not faulty.

Eric, is the Fantom itself in USB-MIDI mode (only Fantom-X and Xa have it, the Fantom-S doesn't)? You need to switch it on in the system settings.

Yes, it's in USB-MIDI mode.
Should 'USB-MIDI Thru' be 'ON' or 'OFF'?
I've tried it both ways, but it doesn't seem to work.
Could the software be corrupted, maybe?

Sharada, **how in the world do you dare to write what you have just written?**
I do not even know what to tell you...
First, do you know that **STEALING** is a very, very bad thing? A thing so bad that we are not allowing anything like that over here.
Second, do you know that Planet V is my work, not Roland's? Do you know how much time it took to create? Think about one year of pretty hard work. Do you know that I do not earn tens of thousands with my sales, and that I barely have enough to pay the bills and feed my wife and two kids?
Do you clearly understand how BAD what you want to do is? Please tell me frankly.

Re: Planet V: giant new sound expansion library for Roland F
ok I lost them and then found them (drums sets) now it's just a case of juggling data between sd cards. I'm lovin the planet v so far

Re: Planet V: giant new sound expansion library for Roland F
When you're in patch list, press "Rhythm" on the F keys - the drum sets are there, located separately from the patches. And thanks very much, I am very glad you like the sounds, it's a great pleasure to hear! I hope you make some nice music with Planet V.
