Is there any way to contact Roland

Post by skeeter »

After searching the website for hours I have come to the conclusion.

Who ever does the webpage for Roland is retarded. All I'm trying to do is buy the update 2.0 for fantom X. Here is the page for the update

http://www.roland.com/products/en/Fanto ... index.html
http://www.roland.com/demos/en/Fantom-X ... index.html

It is an endless loop with no phone numbers or link for purchase. Does anyone have a priated copy, since the Roland corporation dosent give a damn about selling it.

It does look like Roland is not selling them through the web store any more. I suggest you contact your local Roland dealer and let them get one for you. I did this myself a month or two ago without a problem (albeit I live in Norway).

The Audio expansion kit is discontinued in the UK, if your looking for the 2.0 operating system update, check out the US website:

http://www.rolandus.com/products/produc ... jectId=589#

Click downloads, and you will find all the products there. Remeber you can't install the update without the expansion kit though, so you may need to shop around.

The basic roland.com website is a corporate website, I can see why its confusing though!

The Audio Expansion Kit is pretty much discountinued everywhere.

Roland did some clever things to avoid pirating copies of this update kit from the 1.xx to the 2.xx.

This update is a ONE time use kit. Meaning, use it once, and put it back in the box forever...However, it can be used again on a different keyboard....

I just purchased the kit from another clan member. After I finish the update, it goes back in the box, and will be up for sale for the next person. Considering there are so many Fantom users still at 1.xx, this would be the best option. At least there are kits still available, just not from Roland!

As a last resort, Roland is still willing to update your keyboard for the same price ($49), but you have to ship your keyboard to them! That sux!

First, the kit is now installed on all new Fantoms and it's obvious they do not need a separate boxed version for it. Second, you can get it second hand for cheap and it's software so there is no difference.

yeah mine came with it. along with what you said is why i am assuming they quit producing the kits. although i do have a friend that has an XR that will not be happy to hear he has to send it in to roland to get and update if he can not find a used kit.
