While I've sequenced on various boards for years, playing live in a band is a new thing for me. The trouble I'm running into is that I typically use 3 or 4 different patches via a performace setting for each song, and the volume levels are varrying widely. Not so much from patch to patch in a given performance, but more so from one performance to next.
I usually just adjust the volume on my fantom, but sound guys at certain clubs get a little bent out of shape over the volume changes
. Plus, I'm concerned that if I'm messing with my volume levels, what I hear is not going to match what the sound guy hears, and I could be taking myself out of the mix.So, need some suggestions from experienced giggers on how to insure that patch volumes are consistent. Is there any "scientific" way of measure volume levels coming out of the fantom?
