WHAT MONITORS DO YOU USE?

just wondering what kind of monitors everyone use with their Fantoms??
and if you don't mind explaining briefly why you chose those monitors...

Hi msam,

I use Event 20/20 BAS powered monitors . 1in. twwets w/ 8in. woofs
I also have matching 20/20 sub(250 watts). LOVE THEM!

A couple'o'quarts'o'beer makes it so the intonation does not offend yer ear!

Hi Msam,

I recently received my Fantom X and I am currently using my Logitech Z2300 computer speakers as monitors. These consist of two satelites and 1 sub. In total they deliver 400 watts. More than enough for my little room. Of course they do not deliver a "clean" sound. However, they sound great with a lot of punch and work great for me. As (almost) no-budget moniters they work great. When I record I use my sennheiser headphones.

I use the cheap behringer shielded active monitors because they are inexpensive. $330 for the pair. I use good headphones as well to be able to hear how the mix sounds.
When I was researching all this studio equipment it became apparent to me that it is easy to get overcome by what people say is the best equipment.
Just listen with your own ears and make your mix good. I would only spend the big dollars if I was getting big payments from my music, or if my studio was an offical company so that I could claim the equipment as a business expense and then thus tax write off.
For a project studio...just get what sounds good enough and is affordable.

canefire-i couldn't have put it any better than what you have suggested...

I really want the KRK RP5s but they are like $200-$300....expensive--for my budget at least!

I might just go with something cheap, like the Fostex PM0.4 powered monitors for $99 at MusiciansFriend or the $150 by M-Audio, Behringer, etc..
does anyone have any direct experiences with any of the monitors I have mentioned?

I'll either be getting a Juno-G or X6, and I've been looking at the KRK V Series 2 monitors. I'm leaning towards the V6's now because I can't afford a sub right away. Speaking of subs, it looks like KRK discontinued their V-line of subs. Does anyone know if it would work to use their RP10 sub (Rokit line) with the V-series monitors?
