I reconnected FS to another PC, installed software, and tried to download patches and the same thing had happen. I can't even DL anything using Editor as well. I suspect that they messed up something with OS. I'm running 1.09 (on my Fantom-S). I know it worked for me in the past and I'm wondering if it didn't get messed up after I upgraded to ne OS version. Well it looks like there is either software or hardware problem. There are to many people having the smae problem. Especially after installing and connecting the the fresh new PC, I don't believe this is a user error.

whatever you suggest might work, however Librarian and Editor software comunicates with compuert through MIDI not USB ports so this is relevant only if one tries to move data through USB, i.e by draging and droping files into apropriate folder

For all Of you that have problem:
After using Fantom XR with USB. Uninstal and install drivers than go to Controll Panel of your computer and click on Fantom symbol, when it opens click a checkbox, and Thats it no more messages and you can use your fantom without any editor crash or stupid messages that your fantom is not conected and blla blla blla.
Hope this helps or NO this is soultion and not a bull shit like install and uninstall, synchronizations and others.
Try this and IT HAS TO WORK GUARANTIED.
I gat my Fantom XR 3 days ago ( i had same problems on PC) and i had to chnge and buy USB cables thinking that cables are problem booting and rebootign system installin and uninstalling driver and editor, till i had to sleep one night by the computer and accidently i saw this. Bammmm, nom more problems and happy with my Roland product

You also have to make sure that the editor version matches your OS... If you have 2.0 installed, then you need the same version editor... I had the same problems until someone here at the Roland Clan pointed out the problem...

i know i am a year late but i am having this problem as well... my fantom editor and librian was working fine on my old computer... I just switched PC's and now i am having this problem... I have done everything in the above thread any advice??

This is a bad issue!
They should send us a fix for this!
