How to play fully a sample.

Post by Ettinger »

Hi,
After importing the wav file . I assigned it to a key. I need that the sample plays fully after a single touch on the assigned key.The only option that is working so far is to keep the sustain pedal pressed , but this is not suitable for me.Please, any tip?

i've got a Fantom-S, but i think it should be similar.

press EDIT, scroll down to TVA ENV (i think) and turn up the Release.

Thanks for your answer.
I did it.
The sample is played till its end, but the problem is that the volume is fading out while the sample is been played.
Do you know what´s happening?

i know whats happening but not sure how to resolve it

basicallywhat your doing is increasing the length of the note(sample)...so if this was a flute note..the flute would be more reverby or last longer...this is not actually playing the whole sample .

(i think)

Okay

I dont think it matters what type of file your sample is..as long as its wav or aiff...
iits obviously one of them because you can hear it and the fantom recognises it!!

If u select the sample in sample list and press sample edit which is above sample list. then go to sample parameters and then select..

wait i dunno what i gotta do from there

look i tihnk its got something to do with what i just said..
maybe not

im trying to help

but experiment further and see
then you can come back and tell me what you did to mke it work!!

hey Ettinger-

i think it's because your sample (as well as many of my own) are pretty long, and the release doesn't cover the entire thing at full volume. it may even fade out before it's over. the only way i've been able to work around this is by holding the key for a little while before releasing it.

i bet someone around here can tell us a better way.

You have to go to Pro Edit and make it a "No Sustain" then go to the TVA edit and increase the delay... I may have forgotten a step in there, Im not in front of the board right now... If this doesnt work let me know and I'll post it up... Also you may want to check FAQ's...

Hi,

You can use the RPS function to play a whole sample at the puch of a pad or a key.

1. First you make a patch out of your sample.
2. Then use a pattern to play the sample at the pitch you want and to any length.
3. Use the RPS to set what key/pad triggers the pattern.

Regards.
