Fantom w/ microkorg question
Fantom w/ microkorg question
Im thinking about getting a synth and was wondering how would I be able to midi it to my fantom? Can I use a synth on numerous tracks at one time or just on one track? Would it be better to sequence with the synth using protools?
Re: Fantom w/ microkorg question
any help out there???????
Re: Fantom w/ microkorg question
Assuming that you have a Fantom keyboard and not a rack unit, yes it is possible to drive a micro Korg with the fantom sequencer. The micro Korg is a killer little synth for the price, but it is not multi-timbral. You can only sequence one voice at a time.
As far as "is it better to sequence with protools"? I would say no it is not better since the protools sequencer is really nothing special. Your Fantom sequencer will do anything that the protools sequencer can do but limited to 16 tracks. If you know how to bounce tracks, thats not a limitation. Protools is great for editing midi data but so is the Fantom. Most people that I know that are protools guys mainly use it for audio but of course, everyone has their own way of working.
